Fortnite Mobile is a popular battle royale game from Epic Games, where players can dive into modes like Battle Royale and Zero Build. In this guide, I’ll show you how to install it on your Mac easily, set up key mapping for controls, and share some of my best settings to enhance your gaming experience.
How to Install: 3 Steps
Before you can install mobile games like Fortnite on your Mac, you need an Android Emulator. You might be familiar with names like Android Studio, Genymotion, and BlueStacks, but unfortunately, these emulators don’t support Fortnite Mobile.
Luckily, MuMuPlayer Pro, a native Android emulator designed for Apple Silicon Macs, can help you run this game smoothly and with great stability. This emulator optimizes performance specifically for Apple Silicon Chip like M1, M2, M3, and M4 ensuring a seamless gaming experience. Here are 3 steps to install Fortnite on your Mac:
1. Download MuMuPlayer Pro
First, CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD.
Double-click to open the MuMuPlayer Pro installation.
Drag MuMuPlayer Pro into the Application folder.
And that’s it! Simply open it from your Launchpad, and you’re ready to dive into the world of mobile gaming.
2. Download Epic Game Store
Fortnite is not available on the Play Store, so we will need to download it directly from the Epic Game Store. Here is how you can do it:
- Access the MuMuPlayer Pro browser and search for “Epic Game Store”.
- Click on “Install on Android” on the first search result.
- Finish Installing Epic Games on MuMuPlayer Pro.
After you have done the above steps, let’s go ahead to install Fortnite from the Epic Game Store.
3. Adding Terminal Code
After you’ve downloaded Fortnite, you might find that the game crashes whenever you try to open it. This issue often occurs because the Android Debug Bridge (ADB) has detected errors and stopped your device to prevent further problems. But don’t worry, follow this guide to fix it:
Go to your MuMuPlayer Pro developer settings to enable Root Access:
- Go to Developer > Open Developer Settings > Enable Root Access
Now, we will need to make change a few things on the Root Access by doing the following:
- Download a terminal emulator named “TermOne Plus” from the Play Store.
- Open it up type in “su” and hit return, this is the app prompt to get your acceptance to make a change in the root access.
- Keep on typing “ps -ef|grep adbd” and hit return.
- Lastly, type on “stop adbd” and hit return.
After you finish the terminal should look like the picture below, make sure you make the right type and space as well to make this code work.
Now go back to the developer setting and disable the Root Access, and when you go back open Fortnite, you’ll see the game now runs well without any problems.
Set up Key-map for Control
1. Access the Key-Mapping Setting:
MuMuPlayer Pro includes a built-in key-mapping feature that supports both keyboard/mouse and gamepad setups. However, for Fortnite, the key mappings are pre-configured only for controllers. If you have a controller, you can pair it and start playing right away.
If you’re using a keyboard and mouse, you’ll need to click the “New Scheme” button to create your own keyboard and mouse scheme.
2. Customize Key Bindings:
When you open the game, you’ll see the game action overlay. To assign a key, simply right-click on the overlay and choose to add a key mapping. Here are a few options you’ll encounter:
- Tap Spot: Use this to assign a specific key to an action.
- D-pad: Use the AWSD keys for movement.
- Fire/Attack: Typically, use the left-mouse click for attacking.
- Right-click: Use the right-mouse click to assign to any action you choose.
For instance, map the movement keys (WASD), use the left mouse button for shooting, and Space for jumping. You can easily change a key by clicking on it and pressing another key, ensuring each key is unique for one action.
If an action has not been assigned a key yet, you can right-click and add a new key mapping, then assign a key for that action.
Tip: Enable the Show Mapping Hints to see which key is assigned to which until you can get used to it.
3. Save and Test Key-Mapping:
Once you are satisfied with the setup, save your configuration and test it by playing a match to see if it works perfectly for you. In case you want to use my preset for Fortnite mobile you can download it here, and import it into your MuMuPlayer Pro.

This method of setting up key mappings can be used for different games as well. I’ve used the same method for other popular titles like PUBG Mobile. You can check out that tutorial in the article below.
